SEBOKENG. –  The uMkhonto we Sizwe Party (MKP) is doing all in its powers to make sure that, come 2026 Local Government Elections (LGE), they reign supreme in the local municipalities.

This was evident when MKP’s newly elected Deputy President, Duduzane Zuma, was warmly welcomed when he visited the Sedibeng Region on Friday.

The event took place in Saul Tsotetsi Sport Center in Zone 14, where Zuma was accompanied by members of the provincial and local leadership.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, MKP Sedibeng Spokesperson, Mpeyake Nhlapo, said that the visit formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the leadership structures of Sedibeng Region, promote organisational unity, and reinforce the commitment to building a strong and united MKP.

Nhlapo said, “The Deputy President’s engagement with the regional leadership carried an important message of unity, discipline, collective leadership and organisational cohesion. The visit provided an opportunity for leadership to engage on the challenges facing the organisation and to reaffirm the importance of working together towards a common objective.”

Zuma engaged the members in attendance, emphasising the message of unity within the party ranks for the party to come out triumphant in the 2026 LGE.

Nhlapo, on the other hand, added that the Sedibeng Region welcomes this intervention and appreciates the guidance and support from Zuma and provincial leadership.

“We believe that a united leadership is essential to building a stronger organisation capable of serving our communities and advancing the objectives of MKP. As Sedibeng Region, we remain committed to strengthening our structures from the regional level down to the wards and branches, while encouraging all members and leaders to put organisational interests above individual differences.”

Nhlapo concluded that for MKP the message is clear:
