SEDIBENG.- The African National Congress (ANC) has announced its top four Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) mayoral candidates.

The party announced its mayoral candidates in Sandton yesterday.

The ANC said that the candidates were nominated by ANC structures and members of the public and underwent a thorough interview process.

“They now form part of the ANCs collective who will lead the campaign in their respective towns and cities.”

Today, Sunday, the party is in Riverside, Diepsloot, for the launch of its Manifesto.

The Manifesto, the party said, priorities the following:

• Accelerating job creation and local industrialisation
• Improving municipal basic services like water, electricity, and waste management
• Strengthening accountability and responsive local governance

The ELM candidates are:

• Current Mayor, Hassan Mako
• Current ANC Sedibeng Women’s League (ANCWL) Secretary, Disebo Tlebere
• Current ELM Speaker Sibongi Soxuza and
• Meshack Manqa

Meanwhile, in Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM), the candidates are:

• Current LLM Mayor, Mluleki Nkosi
• Themba Motsepe
• Eunice Sibiya and
• Antsie Kheswa

The candidates for Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) are:

• Melina Gomba
• Elsa Maphalla
• Thabang Sithole
