NWU Vaal development league sets example

VANDERBIJLPARK.- History was made when, for the first time, paramedics were made available at a grassroots game in the NWU Vaal Development League games over the weekend.

This has never happened before in any local grassroots league game. The only time paramedics are available at the games is during tournaments, particularly during the finals.
NWU Vaal Football Manager, Thomas Thema said that they want to set the standard as the first league to bring paramedics to the league games.
He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that this came after they experienced two incidents with players getting serious injuries.
“However, it is compulsory that paramedics be present at the league matches even though it is expensive,” Thema said.
Thema said that they want to change the landscape of football in the area.
“We want this league to be as professional as much as it can be; this is the foundation of our football. Yes, it is expensive to keep paramedics on
