VUT students roll up their sleeves for needy children

BOPHELONG.- Elite Survivor, which is a group consisting of the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) Public Relations Management students, recently embarked on giving back to the community at Kgahliso Children’s Home in Bophelong.

These dedicated students rolled up their sleeves to this children’s home when they painted the house and donated blankets and beds. As if this was not enough, this group of students showed some love and care when they donated sanitary towels to the girls at the home, which was much appreciated at this disadvantaged children’s home.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mpho Hlongwane, who is a second-year Public Relations Management student and the group Spokesperson, said the event was meant to assist the NGO with their needs. She hailed this initiative as a great success as they managed to achieve their objective.
Hlongwane said spending time with the kids was a heartwarming and overwhelming experience.
However, this was also part of their assignment as Public Relations Management students to test their skills. “The programme went well as planned
and we want to thank everyone who made this event a success, especially the Kgahliso Children’s Home for welcoming us. “We were overwhelmed by the love of the children and their constant happiness throughout our visit, regardless of their own situations.
“We challenge other young people out there to give back to their communities, especially the needy people in our society. “There is so much that needs to be done in uplifting our communities,” she said.
