Former Silver Stars and Bloem Celtics defender ploughs back to Vaal community
'Let The Kids Play Football'.
SEBOKENG.- Former Silver Stars and Bloemfontein Celtics defender, Michael Khaile, is ploughing back to the Vaal community.
Khaile will be hosting a mini festival grassroots soccer tournament at Meyerton Stadium in May. This mini- football festival is for U/8 and 10 divisions.

The tournament is known as ‘Let The Kids Play Football’.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Khaile who also had an illustrate football career with Highlands Park and Platinum Stars FC said this is not the first initiative hosts. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that he first launched this event at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in zone 14 in 2025 which saw 240 kids attend.

Khaile said this programme is a brainchild of his Vaal Young Boys Academy.
According to Khaile the academy was established in 2020 with the main aim being to bring back grassroots football in the community.
“We aim to make the programme a success…”
“We have teams that have already confirmed their participation from Sebokeng, Bophelong, Boipatong, Sharpeville and Meyerton. It is is going to be a great day of grassroots football. We are looking forward to make this programme a success,” he said.
Khaile who also had a short spell with Russian’s club, Sja-energie Khabarovsk FC, encourages other ex- professional players to get involved in grassroots football to share their knowledge with youngsters.
