Mohale Mofokeng the no-nonsense referee!

SEDIBENG.- While most people are focusing on which team will win the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League this season, Sedibeng Ster Sport is taking a look at some of the match officials who have stood out.
Mohale Mofokeng is one of the referees who has stepped up to officiate major matches during the season. Despite officiating in the ABC Motsepe League, Mofokeng was trusted to handle important top-of-the-table fixtures in the SAFA Sedibeng Regional League.
For instance, he was given the responsibility of refereeing the match between Ben 10 FC and Perfect Academy at the George Thabe Stadium on Workers’ Day. This was a tough game with tempers flying high on the touchline during and after the game.
However, Mofokeng was not intimidated by the lively atmosphere in the stands. He stayed in control and stuck to his decisions, despite how the players and coaching staff felt. Following the final whistle, there were unpleasant scenes because Ben 10 FC felt unfairly treated by some of the decisions, but the referee stayed firm.
As if this was not enough, Mofokeng was also tasked with a huge responsibility by SAFA to officiate the ABC Motsepe League match between Free Agents FC and Jomo Cosmos. This was a decisive fixture for the league title race between Free Agents FC and La Masia FC.
Free Agents FC won the match 3-0, but it was not enough to secure the championship, as La Masia were crowned the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League champions. Former Premier Soccer League referee and current analyst Victor Hlungwani praised Mofokeng, describing him as the best match official in the ABC Motsepe League.

Hlungwani believes Mofokeng has a bright future in refereeing, and is one of the few match officials who are not scared to make a decision. Hlungwani noted that Mofokeng’s ability reminds him of his own career on the pitch.
“ It is not a coincidence that he was tasked to officiate these two crucial fixtures. We know what he is capable of, and he is one of the no-nonsense referees in the ABC Motsepe League,” said Hlungwani.
