Local soccer team donates Fifa World Cup 2026 soccer ball in support of Bafana
The soccer ball was handed over to MooiVaal Media’s offices by the club representatives.
BOIPATONG.- SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League champions, Boipatong FC, donated a Fifa World Cup 2026 soccer ball in support of Bafana Bafana.
Bafana Bafana started their historic World Cup campaign against co-host Mexico at Mexico City Stadium on Thursday (June 11).

Boipatong FC are the newly crowned SAFA Sedibeng Regional League champions after finishing the soccer season at the top of the log.
This means Boipatong FC and Ben 10 FC, which finished as the runner-up, will represent Sedibeng in the SAFA Inter-Regional Play-offs scheduled to take place in this region. This Boipatong-based football club has donated a brand-new Fifa World Cup 2026 soccer ball to MooiVaal Media in support of Bafana Bafana.

The soccer ball was handed over to MooiVaal Media’s offices by the club representatives under the leadership of the chairman, Vusi Nkwenja, and coach Thabang ‘Vila’ Mphuti ahead of Bafana Bafana’s opening match against Mexico.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Nkwenja said that it was important for the club to make this donation, considering that three players from the Vaal are part of the Bafana Bafana team who will represent the country in this global soccer tournament.

To make it interesting, former Bafana Bafana captain Aaron ‘Mbazo’ Mokoena comes from the same area, Boipatong.
“As Boipatong FC, we felt it was necessary to contribute something to show support for the Bafana Bafana team. We wanted to be the first club to show how much we appreciate and value our Bafana Bafana team. This is the best that we can do to show them our support by donating the Fifa World Cup 2026 soccer ball to our local newspaper because of the role it plays in the development of football in this region.”
They shouldn’t take this for granted; this is part of history.
“This is something special with our players’ signatures attached to the soccer ball. They will look back at this and feel a sense of pride. They shouldn’t take this for granted; this is part of history, and maybe we are the first team in the country to do what we did. We, as Boipatong FC, would like to take this opportunity to wish Bafana Bafana all the best in all the games they will play in the tournament,” said Nkwenja.
Meanwhile, Boipatong FC coach Thabang Mphuti told Sedibeng Ster Sport that his team is ready for the inter-regional play-offs.
