SEDIBENG.- The Emfuleni Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League season will come to an exciting end this weekend.

Town Stars FC are set to be crowned the champions of the Boitshepiville Stream.

They secured the top spot on the league table with 41 points.

NWU Eagles FC and Smarties Rangers FC finished in second and third place, respectively. Both teams earned 38 points but were separated by goal difference.

Meanwhile, Vaal Inter FC has been crowned the champions of the Sebokeng Stream.

The two stream winners will now advance to the regional play-offs. They will compete against the winners from two other local football associations, Midvaal and Lesedi. The ultimate prize in the play-offs is promotion to the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League for the upcoming season.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Zakhele ‘Zakes’ Mtshali said that even though Town Stars have already won their stream, they will treat their final game just like any other match. He explained that the team wants to finish the league season with a perfect record.

The champions will be presented with their trophies and medals immediately.

Mtshali said the club’s biggest dream is to compete in the SAFA Sedibeng Regional League next season.

This is not the first time Town Stars FC has reached the promotional play-offs. However, Mtshali is confident that his team can earn promotion this time around. He believes the experience the squad gained in previous play-offs will be a key factor in their success.

 “We’ve been there before, and we know what we expect. I think our experience in the play-offs will give us an edge over other teams,” said Mtshali.
