SEDIBENG.- Young Pirates Football Club face a tough test of character this Saturday as they travel to the Nike Centre to play Doornkop Students in Stream B of the ABC Motsepe League.

Doornkop Students are enjoying a strong start to their debut season in the division and sit third in the league table.

That result helped steady the ship.

In contrast, Young Pirates occupy eighth place and view this fixture as a must-win match if they want to close the gap at the top of the standings.

Young Pirates head into the encounter following a narrow 1-0 victory over Tembisa Destroyers at the Sicelo Stadium last weekend.

That result helped steady the ship after they suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Jomo Cosmos in their opening league fixture.

Although playing away from home presents a challenge, Pirates excelled on their travels last season and will be hoping to turn their away form around this weekend.

At the top of the Stream B table, Wits University lead the way with six points after winning both of their opening matches, while Orlando Pirates occupy second place with four points.
