House breaking and theft suspects handed over to police
The suspects had information that the occupants of the house had visited somewhere and left no one in the house.
SEBOKENG.- The Sebokeng police are investigating a case of house breaking and theft after two men broke into a house and stole some items in Zone 24 recently.
It is alleged that the suspects had information that the occupants of the house had visited somewhere and left no one in the house. Upon the suspects’ forced entry, they started stealing household items as well as food.
In the morning the community members embarked on a search for the suspects around the area until they were found and a citizen’s arrest was effected. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane, said that upon arrival by the police, both suspects were arrested and will appear before the court of law.
“The police would like to thank the community members of Zone 24 for their assistance in apprehending the suspect and further plead that they refrain from any acts of vigilantism, as one cannot defeat violence with violence.”
Sebokeng Station Commander, Brigadier Thembekile Kubone, urges community members to participate in various structures of community patrols.
She further extended her gratitude to Zone 24 community members for the dangerous weapons they confiscated during patrols and further handing them over so they are off the streets and for their continuous efforts in assisting the police to curb crime.
