Temporary fix for Park Rynie sinkhole

Work was done on the sinkhole recently.

A massive sinkhole which formed on the R102 in Park Rynie, heading south towards the traffic lights a week ago, has been temporarily repaired.

Ward councillor Alan Cutten reported it to the KZN Department of Transport, and last Wednesday workers attended to it.
Work was done on the sinkhole and it was temporarily filled.

As of Monday this week, the sinkhole seemed to be mostly covered but motorists are requested to still be cautious in this vicinity.

It initially started off as a dip in the road, but deteriorated rapidly.

Many motorists took to community chat groups to vent their frustration about the danger, as those who spot the sinkhole in time, had to manoeuvre their vehicles onto the oncoming lane.

A motorist badly damaged the front of his vehicle and tyre because he couldn’t avoid the sinkhole.
