Harding Primary explores professions on Career Day
The purpose of the day was to spark early career awareness.
Harding Primary School held a Career Day event on August 27, where learners explored different professions through interactive talks and dress-up.
Learners engaged with professionals from various fields and heard what a day in various careers looks like – from a doctor, a forester and a teacher to a businessman and police officer.
The purpose of the day was to spark early career awareness. It helps Grade 7 learners start linking their strengths and interests to future subjects and career paths before high school subject choices.
It also helps break stereotypes – by meeting diverse professionals and trying different roles, learners see that any career is possible regardless of gender or background.
And lastly, it inspires purpose and motivation – when learners see the impact of work, they are more motivated to work hard in school and dream bigger for their future.
The theme for this year was ‘Dream- Explore-Become’.
