The Isambulo Church of Christ in Zion held its inaugural Isambulo Se-Pardise annual Youth Day Career Expo at Reverend Philangezwi Malishe’s home in Murchison recently.

He encouraged young people to explore, learn, grow, and succeed in life. “Your future starts here, don’t miss out,’ said Malishe.

Malishe is the leader of Isambulo Se-Paradise, a branch of Isambulo Church of Christ In Zion, under Bishop and Lady Bishop Mkhwanazi.

He said the aim of the expo was to empower the youths in the church and surrounding communities with opportunities. “The event catered for 80 children from Grades 9 to 12 and exposed them to various careers to advance their educational goals.”

Tertiary institutions such as Durban University of Technology, Mangosuthu University of Technology and Esayidi TVET College shared information on how to enrol for higher education as well as how to access financial assistance and bursaries.

On the day, Malishe encouraged the young people to take advantage of the expo and and interact with the institutions. “Enjoy the career exposure, skills development information, bursary information, internship opportunities, networking and motivation. Your future is as bright as you want to make it. This event is held under the Bible theme, Proverbs 22:6: ‘Direct your children unto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it’,” said Malishe.

Also in attendance were officials from Ray Nkonyeni Municipality and the Department of Health, who joined the tertiary institutions in presenting educational opportunities.
