Creston tackles cross-country

Kyle and Donna were the stand-outs of the day.

THE general level of fitness of all runners, from gr 1 to gr 12, at Creston’s inter-house cross country event was very encouraging.

Last Wednesday the college phase cross-country athletes took on Suid-Natal athletes at the Creston cross-country course. Well done to Creston athletes Kyle Flanagan who won the boys’ senior event and Donna Small who won the girls’ senior event.

Full marks to Joshua Kuhn (global warming and its effect on algae) Timera Naidoo (effect of light colour on plant growth) and Michaela Heaver (survival blanket technology) who took part in the Port Shepstone science expo and won gold medals.

The annual South Coast Eisteddfod took place last Thursday and Friday. Lionel van Zyl, is thanked for coming all the way from Port Elizabeth to adjudicate over the two days. The standard of the music – both solo and group – was generally excellent. The gala evening where the best pieces will be played will take place this Friday, August 23.
