Busted: Three women caught shoplifting in Tweni
The shop's manager raised the alarm, and a Lazer 911 reaction officer was called to the scene.
A panic was received from Abingdon Kwikspar yesterday (Wednesday) evening at about 17:24 following a reported shoplifting incident at the store.
Lazer 911 reaction officer Keegan Logie was immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the reaction officer made contact with the store manager, who reported that a group of women had allegedly been involved in shoplifting.
According to the information provided at the scene, three of the women were detained while one woman managed to flee in a blue vehicle.
The store was still awaiting camera footage at the time, which is expected to assist in establishing exactly what happened and identifying the vehicle involved.
A case was subsequently opened at the police station, and the matter is now subject to a police investigation.
