SOME of the Port Edward pupils took part in the interschools’ cross-country hosted by Southcity last Thursday and did very well and the school is especially proud of Megan Bircher and Nceba Ncama, who came first in their events.
The grade 4 class recently visited two local farmers to learn more about commercial farming and their first stop was Beaver Creek Coffee farm, where the process ‘from crop to cup’ was explained. A delicious cup of coffee was enjoyed by all, whereafter the pupils went to MacNut Macadamia Nut Farm to learn how this product is exported throughout the world.
Pupils did extremely well on Saturday at the Suid-Natal interschools’ sports day. Abenathi Gwanya 2nd (80m and 100m), Motlatso Ramusi 1st (80m and 100m), Errin Jardim 2nd (80m) and 3rd (100m), Aphelele Malimba 4th (800m and 150m), Romano Boersma 2nd (1200m), Yanga Mhatu 2nd (long jump) and 4th (800m), Jenna Goble-Garratt 2nd (800m), Megan Bircher 1st (800m), Nikita Boersma 4th (shot put), Savannah Levin 4th (100m), Joyan Jacob 4th (100m and 150m), Nceba Ncama 2nd (1200m).
