THE Sheppie Ensemble will be performing a one-hour concert at 10am in the South African Brewery marquee at the Hilton Arts Festival on September 15. The opportunity to perform at this event is a huge honour, as the festival is Kwa-Zulu Natal’s premier arts and culture event.
Well-known teacher Marinda van Deventer passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 4, after a short illness. Marinda has been part of the Sheppie High family for 25 years and was superintendent of the boarding establishment and deputy principal of the school.
Boys’ and girls’ soccer results against Kloof, the boys won and the girls drew all their games. Southcity boys’ first, third and U14A teams won their games, while the U16A boys drew. The boys won all their fixtures against Hillcrest, while the girls’ results were fairly mixed. The junior water polo girls played in a tournament held at Scottburgh High and beat Danville 4-3, Scottburgh 4-2, but drew 2-all against Maris Stella.
