ISLAMIC School staff and the board of governors engaged in a day-long strategic ‘think tank’ planning workshop led by the director, Dr Mahommed Sayeed Karodia. The cornerstone of this workshop was to ‘devise, design, innovate, collaborate, synergise and ‘Islamise’ in order to articulate plans towards achieving the institution’s overall vision.
Three committees, comprising major stakeholders of the Islamic school brainstormed and prioritised the needs of the school and focused on achieving the vision of the school, developing action plans to achieve immediate and deferred goals. It was resolved during the feedback loop of the workshops that the stakeholders are committed towards pragmatic, attainable goals aimed at ‘whole school’ improvement.
Conveners were appointed to deliver goals and objectives in the various school sectors according to strict time constraints. Ultimately, the beneficiaries of these deliberations would be the pupils.
