PREFECTS for 2014 attended a weekend camp at Ilala Palms in Umzumbe. Much fun, team building and some serious discussions ensued and the leaders agreed that this was most beneficial to their future roles in the school. Many thanks are extended to Mr and Mrs Gerrie Veldman for allowing the use of their beautiful chalets for the weekend.
Even the heavy rain did not spoil the weekend and the leaders found they had to adapt. In the words of Meyer Swanepoel, “the sun does not always shine and so you have to adapt quickly to the situation in which you find yourself.” There are many lessons to be learned in that!
The first matric history paper was completed last week and there is now a period of inactivity in the IEB timetable with just isiZulu paper 1 on October 31, until the week beginning November 4 when the first English paper is written. Teachers have been busy in the afternoons with parent and guardian interviews regarding the progress, or lack thereof, of their children.
The heavy rains over the weekend have affected the roads in the district and so attendance at school on Monday morning was severely affected. Hopefully it will be back to normal soon and the roads department will sort out all drainage problems.
