DESPITE the wet conditions last week, Creston was able to accomplish a great deal on the sports fields. Top of the list must be the exciting wins that the 1st XI had against Southcity and the U13 against Izotsha Primary. Playing conditions were difficult, with heavy winds, as well as wet conditions later in the week.
Results of the cricket match between Creston 1st XI vs Southcity Christian College were: Kyle Flanagan scored 19 runs, Creston scored 79 runs in 20 overs. Southcity scored 76 runs in 10 overs and Creston won by 3 runs. Chris Stewart got 3 wickets in 4 overs.
Creston SP also hosted a fourth-term gala, which saw the two houses, Eagle and Falcon, take to the water in an event which has boosted ‘house spirit’ and gave every pupil an opportunity to participate in at least one event. Some really interesting races took places in tubes and in different kinds of swimming costumes.
On Saturday, the sports department at Creston hosted the annual ‘mums and daughters hockey match’ as well as the ‘dads and lads cricket match’, which was followed by a social braai to cap a wonderful season of sport.
