Road damage causes concern

Motorists fear the hole in the road could even cause loss of life.

RESIDENTS of Commercial Road in Oslo Beach are concerned that the severe storm damage this gravel road has recently sustained has made it dangerous for motorists.

According to one of the residents, no signs had been erected to warn motorists about the gaping hole that had appeared in the road, even though it could cause accidents, perhaps even fatalities, or severe damage to vehicles. It was also making it difficult for motorists to drive to and from Creston College and Esayidi Further Education and Training College and was blocking access to a driveway, he said.

“A water pipe is completely exposed,” he added.

The resident has tried to telephone Hibiscus Coast Municipality but has been unable to contact the relevant department.
