Building balance on wheels at Creston College

It has been a positive week of learning, movement and development in the preschool.

Excitement has been evident in the Creston Preschool this week as learners took on a new activity on wheels.

Group 4 and 5 learners received balance bikes, while Grade R learners used pedal bikes, with the playground becoming a space of active learning, movement and enjoyment.

Throughout the week, learners practised balancing, steering and riding, developing coordination, confidence and gross motor skills. Many learners who were initially hesitant are now riding with growing independence.

The initiative has supported important developmental skills, while also encouraging perseverance and cooperation among learners.

Anticipation is building for World Bike Day on Wednesday, June 3 when learners will have the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned.

Families with children aged 2-5 are also invited to the Preschool Open Day Experience morning on Friday, June 5 to view the learning environment and engage with activities first-hand.
