A water meter at the Umbango temple burst at around midday yesterday.
THOUSANDS of litres of fresh drinking water flowed freely down Crescent Street in Umbango for some 20 hours yesterday (Wednesday). People living in Crescent Street are fed up with Ugu District Municipality, saying their calls to Ugu reporting the leak were ignored. According to the residents, the water meter at the Umbango temple burst at around midday yesterday. Several calls to the municipality were made but no one attended to the problem. As of 9am today, the problem had still not been resolved. One person who phoned the Ugu Call Centre said he was told ‘we have other serious issues to attend to’.
