Four killed in weekend crashes
Two vehicles collided head-on near Hibberdene last Friday.

FOUR people were killed and several others were injured in two separate road accidents over the long weekend.
Last Friday two vehicles collided head-on in Umhlingwa near Hibberdene at around 9pm. “Three people died at the scene and one seriously injured passenger was taken to hospital, where he later died. Two other passengers were also injured,” said EMRS spokesman, Robert Mckenzie.
In a separate accident which occurred on the Izingolweni Road near Port Edward yesterday (Sunday), 19 people were injured after the driver of a bakkie lost control of the vehicle. “Paramedics from the difference services worked as a team to treat the patients before taking them to Gamalakhe Community Health Care Centre and Murchison Hospital,” said Mr Mckenzie.
