Margate transforms into ‘Bike City’
The mighty men (and women) on their magnificent machines are here!
THE biggest Harley-Davidson gathering on the African continent, the sixth annual Africa Bike Week, got into gear yesterday (Thursday).
Hosted by Harley-Davidson, Hibiscus Coast Municipality, Ugu District Municipality and South Coast Tourism, the mega event will continue until May 4.
It is supported by sponsors Jack Daniel’s, Carling Black Label, Jeep and Shelly Centre. Thousands of bikers from all over South Africa roared into town and turned Margate into ‘Bike City’.
Thousands of enthusiasts, young and old enjoyed great live entertainment at the main stage.
Yesterday also saw the official opening, where Hibiscus Coast Municipality mayor, Cynthia Mqwebu, welcomed bikers to the Hibiscus Coast.
Visitors can expect Harley-Davidson dealers, demos, exhibitions, trade aftermarkets, a ride-in bike show, a mass ride on Sunday, and much more.
Some of the performers who will take to the stage this weekend include Dozi, Nova Rise, Madison Band and DJ Fistaz, to name a few.
