Five wicket wonder from young offspinner

Only four teams remain as semi-finals approach.

Teenager Damion Bezuidenhout starred with the ball as Port Shepstone Country Club easily beat Harding Sultans in quarter-final cricket action of the Southern KZN Autumn 100 recently.

The 14 year-old, bowling flighted off-spinners which turned prodigiously, took 5-9 in four overs to leave the Sultans in tatters.

He wasn’t the only one to take five wickets, with Altaf doing the same for Knockouts in the later game as they crushed Port Edward Warriors. He ended with figures of 5-16 in four overs.

Up the road at Scottburgh, veteran Anton Potgieter turned on the power to smash 61* off 32 balls for Vikings in their victory over Punjab.

He then trundled in and grabbed two wickets to round off a superb day.

In the other game, Abdullah Dhudhat showed his all-round class with a fiery half century and three wickets.

The semi-finals will be played this Sunday.

In the first game Port Shepstone CC will play Vikings at Port Shepstone CC at 09:30. This will be a massive clash, as Vikings beat Port Shepstone during the pool stage.

The later game Knockouts will take on Trophy Fighters, starting at 13:30.
