HCM spokesman is back in office

The support of family, friends and colleagues helped him through some difficult times.

RATEPAYERS and residents will be glad to know that Hibiscus Coast Municipality spokesman, Simon Soboyisa is back at work.

Mr Soboyisa has been absent for over two months and says he is happy to take up his duties once again.

“This has been a challenging year for me and my family,” he said.

“I had to take time off work as there was a tragic accident in the Eastern Cape which resulted in me losing nine members of my family,” said Mr Soboyisa. He explained that they had died in hospital over a period of weeks.

When he returned to work after the accident, he suffered a stroke and was hospitalised for over a month.

“I am just grateful to God that I have recovered. I couldn’t have made it through without the support of my family, council leadership and the HCM mayor, Cynthia Mqwebu,” he said.

“I would like to thank HCM management, my colleagues and my friends who were very supportive in these trying times,” he said.

“Though I’m still walking with the assistance of the quad walker I’m optimistic that very soon God will enable me to walk on my own,” he concluded.
