The information-sharing session aimed to educate the youth on setting up their businesses in the future.
An educational workshop to arm young people with the necessary skills to set-up their own businesses was held at the Tolomane Mnyayiza Youth Development Skills Centre in Boboyi recently.
It was initiated by the Government Communication Information System (GCIS) along with stakeholders from various government departments.
The assistant director of regional communication of GCIS, Khanyiso Seyisi, said that some of the youth are earning qualifications in sewing, plumbing , welding and fashion design.
“The focus is on how they can use AI and social media to promote their businesses.”
A student at the centre, Nomsa Mbhele, said she has learnt a lot. “With the knowledge given to us I can see myself starting my own business. We were also taught about target markets which is important when opening a business.”
