Scottburgh's Marguerite Huson mourned
She was well-known in the local community, especially through her court reporting and karate.
A long-serving member of the Ward 15 Committee in Scottburgh, Marguerite Huson, died on June 3.
She served as secretary, until recently, when her health began to decline.
“We honour Marguerite for her dedication to community service, discipline and commitment to helping others. Our heartfelt condolences go to her loved ones,” said ward councillor Dana Daniels
Marguerite also served on the Scottburgh CPF executive committee and previously held the position of PRO.
Beyond her civic contributions, she was respected for her achievements in martial arts. She began training in karate at the age of 42 and attained a 3rd Dan Black Belt. She later became a senior instructor and dojo head at the Scottburgh Sport Karate Club, where she trained and mentored numerous students.
Also, Marguerite was a journalist, well-known for her court and crime reporting.
