Bloody clothing a mystery

The items found have not yet been positively linked to any criminal offence.

MYSTERY surrounds the discovery of abandoned bloodied clothing and bedding found near a dustbin on Baracuda Boulevard in Hibberdene on Monday this week.

Police spokesman Captain Vincent Pandarum said the items were handed in at the Hibberdene police station.

“At this stage it has not been positively linked to any criminal offence,” said Captain Pandarum.

A teenager who lives in the area noticed a man in a white bakkie dropping the items into the bin last Saturday.

“He asked if I wanted the items and he left. Once I opened the bag I saw the blood on the clothing and left,” said the boy.

A call to the police was only made on Monday this week after a fisherman noticed the clothing.

Items found included blankets, pillows, women’s underwear and clothing.

Hibberdene police are investigating.
