IN the last week police have carried out the following arrests on the South Coast.
Members of Margate Crime Prevention found 14 straws of whoonga and heroin in a money bag belonging to John Snothi Nzimande in the Masinenge Settlement.
Police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka, said members arrested Nzimande, who recently appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court and will appear again in court on Monday, July 21.
Last Wednesday, Warrant Officer Patrick Gosling, Constable Lee Frost, Constable Mzakwe Makana and Constable Raphael Smithwick from Port Shepstone SAPS arrested three people in the Port Shepstone CBD for possession of dagga.
Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said all three paid admission of guilt of R100 each.
Sanele Makhabela (23) was caught with six parcels weighing 12.8 grams, Moses Moyo (23) with five parcels weighing 13 grams and Makene Shady (19) with six parcels weighing 13 grams.
That same afternoon two suspects were arrested in the Marburg area for the possession of dagga. Mongezi Msinga (35) was arrested for being in possession of 26 parcels in a bag weighing 70.2 grams. He appeared in court last Thursday and the case was remanded to July 21 for further investigation.
Boy Gumede (22) was arrested for three grams of dagga. He also appeared in court and paid an admission of guilt fine.
