A MAN, (35), was arrested for being in possession of stolen goods in Umzumbe on Tuesday morning.
Sergeant Mtobeni Ngqlunga and Constable Gracia Mokoena of Southport Police Station were on duty when they saw three men walking on the railway line in Umzumbe.
When the three men saw the police approach them they ran. One man was caught and found in possession of a flat screen TV, PlayStation, surround sound dvd player and other items.
After interrogating the man, it was discovered that the items were stolen from a house they had broken into earlier.
The owner was contacted and has yet to open a case of housebreaking.
“The man will be charged for possession of stolen property and will appear in court soon,” said police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
