Life sentence for child killer

THE 22-year-old man who pleaded guilty to rape, murder and housebreaking with the intent to kidnap has been sentenced to life in prison.

On October 5 last year Sizwe Thando Dlamini abducted a seven-year-old Amandawe girl from her grandmother’s home. Her body was only found a week later near a river.

After careful consideration by the magistrate,  he was handed a life sentence for the rape of the young girl, 15 years for the murder, and a further 10 years for the housebreaking with intent to kidnap. The sentences are to run concurrently.
