Teen (18) threatened, raped and robbed

The girl was forced into the sugarcane fields and raped.

A MAN who allegedly raped an 18-year-old girl in Port Edward last Saturday threatened to sell his victim to foreigners if she did not comply with his instructions.

According to police reports, the girl was walking along the Izingolweni Road at about 6pm when she was approached by the man.

“He apparently attacked the teenager and forced her into the sugarcane fields,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.

“The girl claimed the man threatened to kill her or sell her to foreigners if she did not comply. She was then taken to a farm and raped.

“Her attacker took her cellphone. Her removed the phone’s sim card, which he returned to the teen before fleeing with the cellphone,” said Captain Mfeka.

Port Edward police are investigating. No arrests have been made.
