Movie magic for Senzo

Dreams have come true for this local film director.

LOCAL film producer and director Senzo Zindela is ‘ecstatic’ about being selected to attend the 39th annual Toronto International Film Festival in Canada next month.

“I’m over the moon. My dream is slowly coming true,” he said, with a huge smile on his face.

It’s exciting to think that Senzo, of Izingolweni, is most likely rub shoulders with famous celebrities, directors and actors.

Senzo, who owns the Sollywood Films, has been producing movies since 2008 and was selected to attend the festival by the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission for his sci-fi movie titled ‘Big Five’.

Together with many others from around the country, he will be jetting off to the second most prestigious and powerful film festival in the world, which began in 1976 as the ‘Festival of Festivals’.

It will be work and little partying for Senzo, who plans to promote seven of his films at the festival.

“My mission is to raise funds and to get agents to buy into my films,” he said.

September will be a busy month for Senzo, as he also looks forward to the annual Ugu Film Festival, to be held at Spiller’s Wharf between September 19 and 23.

He also has many plans up his sleeve. There is a great possibility of him shooting a movie in China next year, as one of his actors, Sifu Khwesha Dlamini, is currently training in advanced martial arts in China.

There are also talks of a group of his actors being trained in Hollywood on an annual bases. “I need to invest in my actors as they need to be of a high calibre,” he added.
