TWO women, who were walking home to Nkulu Ward, Nzimakwe near Port Edward last Saturday were threatened by a man carrying a broken bottle.
Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said that when the women noticed the man chasing after them, they ran.
“Both women ran to a nearby farm area where the man followed them. According to one of the women, aged 25, she fell and the man grabbed her. He threatened to kill her if she screamed for help and raped her. After raping her he fled, taking her cellphone,” said Capt Mfeka.
Meanwhile, her friend (24), managed to stop a passing motorist who assisted by taking the women to a nearby clinic.
No arrests have been made and Port Edward police are investigating.
