Missing cop found in shallow grave

Police found the body by tracking the missing policeman's cellphone.

THE shocking discovery of a shallow grave in Toyana Ward in Umkomaas on  August 19 ended a three-week search for missing Durban policeman, Constable Nkanyiso Ngcobo.

Ngcobo, a member of the Durban Central Crime Prevention Unit, went missing from his Berea home on August 2.

Police managed to trace  his location after tracking his cell phone which, together with his wallet, was found close to the body.

Police spokesman Colonel Jay Naicker confirmed that on Friday, just three days after the gruesome discovery, three suspects aged between 25 and 35 were arrested by the organised crime unit in connection with the murder. They are expected to appear in court this week.
