A MARINA Beach resident did as he was told when armed robbers ransacked his home during the early hours of this morning.
John Katz said the robbers, armed with a knife and an 18 inch screwdriver, threatened him, saying if he looked at them, they would kill him. Mr Katz took heed, covering his face with a blanket.
The shaken man said he heard the dogs barking, but fell asleep, only to awake at around midnight to find two men in his room.
He described the men as both being in their 40s and said their modus operandi was ‘professional’. Both wore gloves, and one of the them was wearing a balaclava.
The men searched the house, only leaving at around 4.30am. Mr Katz said the men fled with computers, cellphones, money and clothing. He was not harmed.
“About four years ago we had a break-in, but this was far worse,” he said.
He warned others living in the area to be extra careful.
A case has been opened at the Margate police station.
