REPORTING back from the Uvongo Community Safety and Policing Forum’s August meeting, chairman Ernest Booysen advised that there had been a record number of housebreaking incidents in the area – the highest number in the past three years.
Although residents of the affected areas had joined hands in establishing an active block watch, it had not had the desired effect in reducing incidents.
Residential burglaries occurred intermittently both during the day and night with lots of criminal activities in the Orange Rock Road area.
