TWO men are behind bars after they were arrested in Marburg on Tuesday this week.
Police officers Warrant Officer Richard ‘PC’ Naicker and Sergeant Rudi Smit were patrolling in Marburg when they spotted two suspicious men, aged 30 and 26, pushing a trolley.
“When they stopped them, the officers found a go-cart, a Ryobi lawn mower and two speakers inside the trolley,” said police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Widd.
The men were arrested after the officers established that the items were stolen in Protea Park, near Albersville on August 29 or 30.
A 63-year-old complainant identified his property. A theft case was opened and the two men have been charged with possession of stolen property. They are due to appear in court soon.
