THREE Chinese businessmen and their customers were threatened and robbed at a supermarket in Nqabeni near Izingolweni last Saturday.
The three men were attending to customers at around 4.30pm when six armed men entered the store.
“The men, one of whom was armed with a knife, held the shop owners at gun point and ordered the customers to lie down on the floor,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.
“One of the customers was ordered to hand over the keys to his bakkie. The intruders then robbed the businessmen of cellphones, laptops and computers. One of the shop owners was stabbed in the chest and in the back before the robbers fled in the customer’s bakkie.”
Hong Qing Yan (36) was taken to hospital, where he is said to be recovering. No arrests have been made.
