Man survives being shot – five times

The man was asleep at his home when he was shot.

A MAN from Ngwemabala, Gcilima, near Margate, is lucky to be alive after being shot five times last Saturday.

Two of the bullets hit the man in his groin, two in the ankle and one in the thigh.

Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said when officers responded to the call-out they found the man had already been taken to the nearby clinic.

“He was rushed into emergency surgery and treated for the gun shot wounds at Murchison Hospital. According to information given, the man was at home asleep when he was shot,” said Capt Mfeka.

It is believed that the man in a stable condition and is to undergo further surgery. No arrests have been made.
