SOUTHPORT police are investigating two separate murder dockets and one of attempted murder after police were called out to Silwane ward, in Madlala last Sunday.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said police were shown the body of a 39-year-old man who had multiple stab wounds to the chest, hands and the back of the head.
Following up on investigations, police were led to Silwane ward, where they found the body of a 15-year-old boy.
“The teenager was apparently assaulted by the community as he was suspected of being the one who stabbed the man,” said Lt-Col Wiid.
The teenager had an open cut on his head and a stone was found near his body.
“A few minutes later, officers from the Public Order Policing (POP) from Port Shepstone tried to arrest a man who was allegedly involved in the killing of the teenager. However, officers say he resisted arrest and a shot was fired,” said Lt-Col Wiid.
The man was wounded in his lower body and taken to hospital. An attempted murder docket is being investigated.
