Second-hand goods store burgled

The alarm system was ripped out.

A STORE selling second-hand goods in Oslo Beach was robbed last Tuesday night by thieves who may also have tried to rob neighbouring stores.

Estelle Dumas, owner of Derek’s Secondhand Dealer, said she had locked the business on Friday, September 12 at about 4.30pm.

“When I returned on Tuesday last week I discovered that the premises had been broken into and the store was in disarray. I noticed that the alarm cables had been cut,” she said.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the culprits gained entry through the roof and then ripped out the alarm system.

Items stolen from the store include jewellery, flashlights, knives, rings and cash.

According to Mrs Dumas, the thieves had tried to burgle two other stores on the property as the ceiling boards had also been broken.
