Swimming banned at all local beaches
All shark nets have been removed.
SHARK protection gear has been uplifted and swimming has been banned at all beaches in the Hibiscus Coast Municipality area.
The reason for the blanket swimming ban is still unclear but it is believed that it is the result of a dispute between the municipality and KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board over payment for shark protection services.
