A 67-year-old woman from Port Edward was confronted by an intruder in her house last Friday at about 8am.
“It is alleged that the woman was taking a shower and when she got out and walked down the passage, she came across the intruder,” said police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
“The man was carrying a laptop and demanded money and a firearm from the woman. She managed to run out of the house and screamed for help,” she said.
The man escaped after the arrival of a neighbour. Investigations are continuing and no arrests have been made. A house robbery case is being investigated.
