Update: Man charged with drunken driving

He jumped out of the vehicle and walked away.

A MOTORIST (34) was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he crashed into a stationary trailer at the side of the road in Sea Park last Saturday.

He paid R1000 bail and will appear in court again next year. Results of blood tests are awaited.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said police received a report of a person who was driving recklessly in the Southport area at 5.50am.

“After the collision, the driver allegedly jumped out of the vehicle and walked away,” she said.

He was arrested by Constable Chantel Godden from Southport SAPS and Officer Devlyn Abbott of Hibiscus Coast Law Enforcement near the Sea Park intersection.
