Update: Ella murder accused to appear for bail hearing

The man has five previous convictions.

THE  man accused of raping and murdering Ella Sophia Potgieter, known as Elsie, appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court earlier today.

The thin young man (23) with dyed black hair, dressed in a black tracksuit top, crossed his arms while he stood in the box in front of Magistrate Annita Sesiah.

The hearing was postponed to next week, for bail application. He will remain in custody.

The man will also be appearing on a previous charge of attempted murder. The court heard he has a previous conviction for theft, and for four counts of housebreaking.
