MTHWALUME High’s choir has done the school proud. It has been invited to take part in the seventh Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival in London next April.
This is the largest male choir festival and features choirs from across the UK and the rest of the world. Just this year in July the male school choir made headlines when it managed first position from all provinces, under the leadership of choirmaster Khulekani Khumalo, in a music competition organised by the Department of Education.
The choir was also invited to take part in the Imizwilili choir shoot for the KZN Province at the Durban University of Technology earlier this month. Imizwilili is a television programme aired on SABC 1.
Since the invitation to London, the school choir has been hard at work to ensure that it performs at its very best. However, the school is looking for sponsors to assist with payment for accommodation.
