A VEHICLE which was stolen during a house robbery in Hibberdene during the early hours of last Thursday was found abandoned at Kwa Hlongwa, near Hibberdene on Friday
“A 22-year-old man and a friend were sleeping when one of them was awoken by a noise,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
“He got up to investigate and found two intruders inside the house. One was armed with a gun and demanded the keys to the homeowner’s bakkie. The man resisted and was hit over the head with a plate,” said Lt-Col Wiid. The man suffered cuts to his face, and the two men fled in the bakkie.
At around 6am on Friday, Warrant Officer Christo Mostert from Port Shepstone SAPS Crime Intelligence and Law Enforcement officer Devlyn Abbott recovered the vehicle in Kwa Hlongwa where it had beens abandoned in a bush.
The vehicle was partly stripped. Investigations are continuing and no arrests have been made.
